Bennett Waddell Obituary (1946 - 2016)

Bennett Waddell, 70, of South Beloit, IL, passed away December 23, 2016 at home after a lengthy illness. Born October 12, 1946 in Springfield, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wynn and Alice (Bryant) Wilkins.After middle school his family moved to Joliet, IL where he attended Joliet Township High School. There he met his future wife Mary Jane Knowles. Ben and Mary Jane were married in Joliet IL on February 12, 1966 and spent the better part of 50 years together.. He was employed as a Design Engineer by Caterpillar for 35 years, where he acquired 2 different patents for his inventions.They raised their family in Minooka, IL where Ben served as a Volunteer Fireman, was a scratch golfer, and enjoyed music and watching his children play sports. Survivors include wife Mary Jane; daughters Christine (David) Hir; Tracey (John) Eitmontas; Stephanie Raddatz; and son Mark (Jessica) Waddell, He had eleven grandchildren , Bailey, Madison, McKayla, and Braden Hir; Isabella, Ashley, and Caitlyn Eitmontas; Jack and Benjamin Raddatz; Alice and Liam Waddell, plus baby #3 on the way. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Waddell who resides in TX and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Private Funeral Ceremony to be held. Cremation rites will be accorded. Please do not send flowers per the family’s request.
